Robert A. Hunt visits the actual Historical Coalmont Hotel

On June, 19th 2013 I (Robert A. Hunt) Drove to Coalmont, BC and visited the Historical Coalmont Hotel. This is the very same Coalmont Hotel I wrote about in my book, 'The Coalmont Legend'. I left a copy of my book with the Hotel's manager, Dave. Dave was very friendly and we talked about many things together. Dave was willing to give me a tour of the basement and the third upper level. At the moment the Hotel is in rough shape and in need of repair. The new owners, (From Vancouver, BC) have only had the hotel open for about three weeks. They know they have a lot of work to do. What causes people to be drawn to the town of Coalmont and the Coalmont Hotel, besides the rich history, is the paranormal activity. Thrill seekers are particularly interested and leave this town with an extraordinary story from their experience every time. People have reported seeing full size apparitions along with objects that move on their own and doors slamming shut with no draft.
If you decide to visit this extraordinary place, I suggest you make a point of visiting the Museum in Tulameen, which is the next town over. To me, Coalmont, Granite City and Tulameen are one place as they are all so close to one another. Walk the Kettle Valley Railway, boat, fish and camp in Tulameen and hike the endless trails or explore the many quad trails.
The people are very friendly and laid back here. Your stay will be one you'll never forget.
